CHAMOIS

The graceful Chamois is one of the most difficult trophies to obtain. A very agile member of the antelope family, the Chamois is superbly adapted to living in the steep, rugged environment of the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Chamois can be hunted all year round, though like Tahr they are at their best from April to August during the rut. At this time they have a magnificent coat that is long and black with a silver strip along the spine.
