FALLOW BUCK

Fallow were introduced from Europe and have thrived, they are now distributed throughout much of New Zealand. The broad palmate antlers are an attractive and very distinctive feature. Hunting takes place between March and September with the rut occurring in April and early May. At this time the bucks are particularly vocal and aggressive.
